US History

Objectives:

  • Understand calendar features in Schoology to set up Personal Events.
  • Explain the rise of dictators, the beginnings of WWII and American response.
  • Identify and analyze the rise of dictatorships and authoritarian regimes that emerged in Europe and Asia during the 1930’s.
  • Analyze American isolationism during the 1930s and its effect on world affairs.

Bell Ringer:

Open Chromebooks and go to Schoology.

Activities:

  1. Set up US History Class by looking for 3, 4 or 5
  2. Intro Calendar and Personal Events
  3. Review WWII Intro Assign due today:
    • To score a 3:  Take Notes on Quizlet
    • To score a 4:  Take Notes on Nettrekker for 3 videos
    • Must write summary of what you learned!!!
    • Will play Quizlet Live at start of next class for coins!
  4. Preview 1st choice assign due 3/11 or 12:
    • To score a 2:  #1 Treaty of Versailles Discussion, #2 WWII VOC and #3 WWII VOC Quiz
    • To score a 3:  WWII Timeline Discussion and WWII Cause and Effect Essay
    • To score a 4:  WWII Research and Analysis Flipgrid

IB 20th Century World

Objectives:

  • Understand calendar features in Schoology to set up Personal Events.
  • Analyze the causes, conduct and consequences of 20th century war.
  • Identify terms and phrases that apply to ideas presented by Robert McNamara’s “Fog of War.”

Bell Ringer:

Open Chromebooks and go to Schoology

Activities:

  1. Set up IB History by looking for 6 or 7
  2. Intro Calendar and Personal Events
  3. Complete Cause of War Discussion p 7-15
  4. Fog of War VOC and Read “Fog of War” Synopsis
