Objectives:

  • Describe the political and military events that caused some North American colonies to break with Great Britain, wage war and proclaim a new nation in 1776.
  • Analyze the American revolutionaries’ justifications, principles and ideals as expressed in the Declaration of Independence
  • Develop a timeline of the major events and turning points of the American Revolution, including the involvement of other nations; analyze the reasons for American victory.
  • Describe the events of the Boston Tea Party and Boston Massacre.
  • Analyze the effects of propaganda by creating a slogan protesting the Tea Act.

Activities:

  1. Discuss “Join or Die” Cartoon and watch video
  2. Go over choice assign due 9/27:

Objectives:

  • Identify the political effects of an independent India on South Asia and the world.
  • Analyze the immediate and long range effects of an independent India on world events.

Open Nehru Discussion in Schoology and read comments.  Ask question or make comment on one other statement.
