Objectives:

  • Identify 13th, 14th and 15th amendments and their effect on the social improvement of blacks in the South.
  • Compare and contrast the impact of Emancipation Proclamation to Amendments to the Constitution and specific acts to improve social well being of southern blacks.
  • List the economic effects in the South after the Civil War and the answers to these issues.
  • Understand the implications of sharecropping and tenant farming as a result of social change in the South.

IB 20th Century World

Objectives:

  • Plan an historical investigation by choosing a topic and creating a question to answer.
  • Summarize and assess evidence used to answer the question by analyzing the value and limitations of sources with respect to their origin and purpose.

Activities:

  1. Discuss in Small Group Answers to Formative
  2. Take Nature of History Summative I
  3. Present Section 1 Section 1 QUESTIONS, RESEARCH AND SUMMARY OF EVIDENCE and OPVL GUIDE ASSIGNMENT
  4. Finish Section 1 Assign Tues/Wed in class
