Objectives:

  • Identify and analyze the end of WWII as VE Day, May 8 1945.
  • Analyze the Potsdam Conference.
  • Identify the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and their significance in the World War
  • Analyze the military campaigns, political decisions and efforts on the home front that won World War II.
  • Identify and describe the Allied plan, events or battles and eventual victory/liberation of Europe and the Pacific.
  • Identify and describe the Allied plan, events or battles and eventual victory over Japan.

Bell Ringer:

Sit in groups presented by teacher

Activities:

  1.  Finish D-Day Quiz/Work on RAFT
  2. WWII Media Presentations/Timelines

IB HOA p. 6/7

Objectives:

  • Identify Miguel Hidalgo and his role in Mexican Independence.
  • Analyze Hidalgo’s impact on the Independence movements in Latin and South America.

Bell Ringer:

Move into 6 groups

Activities:

  1. Group #’s will each read different Mexican Ind Reading
  2. Create Mexican Ind Media Pres/ Researchers and Writer and Presenter (Also use Ch 8)
  3. Present Media Presentations
